We always need volunteers at Unique Ways, to help us provide the best support possible for Parent Carers and their children. We also love having new faces around our office!

Membership Support Volunteer

APPLICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE ARE NOW CLOSED

Unique Ways is a local Calderdale charity (based in Halifax) that works to support families of disabled children and young people in Calderdale.   The charity is a Membership led charity that directly support Parent Carers, you do need to be a member to benefit from our services, however, Membership is free.

Unique Ways delivers a range of support services directly to families but also facilitates the collective voice of Parent Carers in Calderdale, supporting Parent Carers to  influence the design, development, commissioning and delivery of services, we do this through our project called Family Voice Calderdale which is the designated Parent Carer Forum for Calderdale.

The charity has over 3,000 Members, 1,000 of which have chosen to join us in the last 12 months, which clearly evidences the need for the work that the charity undertakes.

To enable us to continue to develop our offer to local Parent Carers and ensure we provide the best possible quality of service to our Members, we have identified a further new volunteering opportunity with our Charity.  We believe this role will play a key part in assisting our small friendly team to deliver for our Members.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the issues faced by Parent Carers of children with disabilities and additional needs and have excellent administration, organisation and planning skills.

Full training will be given.

Although we are  flexible in agreeing the specific hours and volunteering pattern,  we are looking for a real commitment to the agreed hours on a weekly basis, ideally 5 – 10 hours per week across 1 -2 days.   Ad-hoc hours will not meet the  business needs of the charity therefore unfortunately we cannot offer this role on an ad-hoc basis.

If you think you could make a difference to the lives of families of disabled children in Calderdale, application packs can be downloaded via the attachments below.
