Who we are…
Unique Ways is a parent-carer led organisation, offering support, guidance and a range of services to families with disabled children aged 0-25. We’re based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, covering the whole of the Calderdale area and beyond.
Formerly known as Calderdale Parents and Carers, we offer support based on the social model of disability, which means we don’t restrict our services based on a medical diagnosis or specific eligibility criteria. We help families with children that have any additional needs, whether this is because of physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or ongoing health problems.
Simply put, if you feel that you need our support, then we’re here to help. We don’t insist on the “proof” of a diagnosis.

Our Vision, Mission and Values
We aim to ensure that families with children and young people with disabilities receive all of the guidance and support that they need to live ordinary lives. We do this by focusing on a number of key outcomes for families, underpinned by our core values, which put the best interests of disabled young people and parent carers at the heart of everything we do.
Unique Ways is run by and for parent carers. Our team are a dedicated, caring and cheerful bunch, who are always here to help with guidance, information, a friendly smile, or a warm brew. Find out more about who we are and what we do at Unique Ways.
