One of our most important goals is ensuring that families feel like their voices are heard and taken into account when talking about their child’s disability and needs, and that the collective voice of parent carers and their children can influence the planning, shaping, commissioning and delivery of services.
We encourage people to get involved with Unique Ways as much as they like, and a big part of that involvement is feeding back your views on the services you use, whether they’re provided by the Local Authority, schools, health services or us.
There are a number of ways you can have your say – find out more below.
Family Voice Calderdale
Family Voice Calderdale is our parents’ forum, running meetings, focus groups and surveys to learn the views of parent carers, and feeding back to service providers. You can get involved by contributing your views, or by becoming a parent representative.
Become a trustee
Our trustees are a group of parent carer volunteers responsible for setting and maintaining the vision, mission, values, strategy, policy, goals and targets of Unique Ways. Learn more about our current board of trustees, and how to get involved.
Volunteer with us
We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to help us keep providing the best services that we can. You don’t need any specific educational or professional qualifications to get involved – just a friendly smile and a positive outlook!
Our annual survey
Every year, we survey all of our members about their satisfaction with the services provided by the Local Authority, schools and health services, as well as our own.
