One of our most important services is simply offering information to parent carers who really don’t know where to start, and pointing you in the right direction when you’re seeking support for your child.

Information

When you register as a member with Unique Ways, we’ll ensure that you are kept up to date and informed of any issues that may affect you and your family.

You can choose to receive regular email bulletins and postal mail-outs to keep you informed of our events and activities, as well as lots of other useful information on services – particularly any changes in funding or regulations that will affect you as a parent carer.

You can also receive our magazine, INclusive Calderdale, which we circulate twice a year. We’re on Facebook too, so give us a follow to keep up with everything we have going on!

We also hold a variety of information sessions throughout the year for parents to attend. Some of these have previously included sessions on sex and relationships, dental care and continence – contact us for more information.

Signposting

Sometimes, as a parent carer, it’s hard to know where to turn. What’s the next step to make something happen for you and your family? What services can you use? Who can help?

If we’re unable to provide you with the information or support you need, we invariably know somebody that does – and we’ll be more than happy to point you in their direction!

We have excellent links throughout Calderdale, and we signpost to statutory agencies as well as other voluntary and private sector organisations. If we can’t help you ourselves, we’ll do our very best to help you find someone who can.
