Following the success of our coffee mornings, and afternoon teas we’ve also introduced a Coffee Morning in Hebden Bridge Town Hall for Parent Carers who can’t make our daytime sessions in other areas– or who just want to drop by and see us more often! Finding the right chances to socialise and build a personal support network is something that we often see Parent Carers struggle with, and with these sessions we aim to provide that opportunity.

Our monthly coffee morning is held at Hebden Bridge Town Hall on the second Wednesday of the month, from 10AM to 11:30aM. The sessions are led by our staff and volunteers, so they’re a great opportunity to bring along any questions you have – we’ll be more than happy to help!

We find that our coffee mornings in other areas are the perfect introduction to Unique Ways and what we’re about – it’s a great opportunity to get to know our staff and volunteers in an informal environment, make friends, and build up a network of understanding, supportive people for you and your children.

Along with our coffee mornings, which run on the first Tuesday of the month at Hanson Lane, these sessions have been lifelines for some of our members – just take a look at our success stories to find out more. There’s no need to book or pay – just show up and say hi.

Please note, the aim of our Peer Support Sessions, is exactly that, Peer Support – you as a Parent Carer should be the most important person in the room. Our Coffee Mornings and Afternoon Teas were created to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space specifically designed for our Parent Carer Members to meet others with similar experiences to their own.

Please do try to arrange childcare to ensure you can come along with only you to think about if you can. Thank you.

Peer Support is not designed for children; however, we do understand that, on occasion, childcare may not be possible, and it may be necessary for you to bring your child with you, which is of course fine.

Peer Support sessions are provided during term time.
