Join the Unique Ways Team
Specialist Delivery Practitioner: (Independent Supporter / Education)
£ Competitive Salary (24 hours per week Term Time Only) – Closing Date: Thursday 1st April 2021 – 5.00pm
Unique Ways is a local parent-carer led charity supporting families with disabled children, helping them to lead ordinary lives. Our goal is to make sure that the voices of parent carers and their families are heard and that parent carers receive the support they need to build their resilience.
We provide a broad range of services for parent carers, from free training courses, workshops and focus groups to a range of specialist support from our team of practitioners. We don’t restrict our services based on whether the child/young person has a diagnosis or not, and instead work with anyone who feels they need our help.
April 2021 will see a new financial year, new ways of supporting parent carers in Calderdale and new opportunities for potential team members to join the Unique Ways team.
Unique Ways continues to adhere to government guidance as the situation develops, however, it is hoped that we will be able to recommence face to face support again from Summer 2021. 2020 was a year the majority of us would like to forget, however, the implementation of the new coronavirus vaccine means we can look to the future with renewed optimism. Every organisation should have key learnings from the lockdown experience in how it best supports its users, Unique Ways is no different.
Our Annual Survey results of our parent carer members has highlighted that there is a gap in provision in how we support working parents and that will be a priority for us in 2021.
As a disability confident employer, the successful applicant for the position will be able to complete tasks with or without reasonable accommodations. Access to reliable transportation will be necessary for this position as our Practitioners are expected to deliver their specialism support as an outreach offer as well as from our Halifax office.
We are seeking a team player who shares our value alignment and in return we offer family friendly policies. The position is available as term time only with flexible start/finish times as long as there is a commitment to a regular working pattern. The position will be based at our Halifax office (Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre), however, travel throughout the Borough will be necessary.
To provide a complete service, the successful applicant must be able and willing to cover for their colleagues to ensure service is not interrupted for our members, although each role has a specialism, generalist cover will be required occasionally.
Closing date for applications is 5pm on Thursday 1st April 2021.
Provisional date for interview will be Wednesday 21st April.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of Covid-19, we will be conducting the interviews via Zoom or Microsoft Teams (video conferencing).
