Free Hydrotherapy Day at Ravenscliffe
Irwin Mitchell have organised a Hydrotherapy Day at Ravenscliffe School on Wednesday 8 April 2015. The sessions are FREE OF CHARGE!!
Hydrotherapy allows the children to relax and encourages confidence by combining therapeutic and recreational activities. The warm water enables children to have some freedom of movement and stimulates their senses. It is an acitivity that is both beneficial to and enjoyed by many children.
The day will consist of a series of 20 minute hydrotherapy sessions throughout the morning and afternoon. There will be a qualified physiotherapist in the pool who can work with parents/carers and children offering both input in the pool and advice on hydrotherapy exercises. This event is aimed at all children with disabilities from babies to 15/16 year olds.
Each child will need a parent or carer to accompany them both in the pool and to assist in getting changed. If a hoist is required, please bring a sling on the day. There will be other activities such as biscuit decorating and face painting conducted by Irwin Mitchell staff throughout the day for any siblings that wish to attend.
All abilities are welcome to attend the hydrotherapy sessions even those that may have not previously undertaken hydrotherapy. Some sessions will be one to one with the physiotherapist and some will be group sessions with the physiotherapist; the type of session that your child attends will be decided based upon their abilities.
